Healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp. Bad scalp conditions may be obvious, such as dandruff, oily hair, unwanted odors, redness, itching, hair thinning and hair loss. However, some serious conditions may exist yet not be so obvious.

Who doesn’t love swimming in the ocean when summer rolls around?  It is a great way to get outside, spend time with friends and family, have fun and exercise.  

Summer is an exciting time when we want to do as much as possible. But if we are not careful, it is easy for our hair to become as dry as the weather!

Here are a few tips to keep your hair moist throughout the summer:

When dealing with hair loss, while most remedies are focused on physical health, it is of equal importance to properly maintain your psychological health.  

In certain cases, especially in women, a mineral deficiency is the root cause of hair thinning and loss. Iron leads the list for common mineral deficiencies, and is a key component to a thick, full head of hair. Spinach is not only iron rich, but also has omega-3 acids, potassium, calcium and magnesium, all of which keep hair thick and lush. Lastly, spinach contains sebum, which is a naturally occurring conditioner for hair.

Take off your wig before sleeping. Sleeping with your wig will create knots and tangles and lead to breakage. Tossing, turning, and the pressure put on your wig will not only tear it but make it much harder to maintain a smooth, healthy, stylish appearance.

As the weather continues to get colder and colder, you may notice that as the air becomes dryer, your hair does too. This is not only a bad look for your hair, but is also unhealthy, making it significantly more vulnerable to breakage. Fortunately, this is almost entirely preventable. Below are a few useful tips on how to avoid that annoying dryness that comes with the winter.
